Kolkata Chapter of Quality Circle Forum of India has recently embarked upon the great challenging task of spreading the mission and vision of QCFI amongst all parts of West Bengal including rural Bengal in particular and also in the north eastern states. Our initiatives and endeavours have been welcomed by all sections of people in the society. We value immensely the help and support we are receiving from our Head Quarters in fulfilling our objectives.
The tasks ahead of us are not only to educate and practice the philosophy of QC, but also to develop large number of faculty who shall in turn multiply our activities by manifold in future and meet the growing needs of customized training for the industries and for the society at large.
We are proud to say Kolkata Chapter is privileged to enter into a MOU with the Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry in the month of June 2011 for joint Quality Initiative programmes. Signing this MOU shall propagate Quality Circle movement amongst industries in the State of West Bengal by synergizing the capabilities of both BCCI and QCFI and shall help the industries to experience a phenomenal enhancement of their productivity and work culture which are much needed at this juncture when the State is witnessing a huge opportunity of growth and development.
Our Annual Chapter Convention (CCQC 2011) is due on 21st September at Taj Bengal, Kolkata where we are expecting a large number of delegates to participate from across the Industries not only from West Bengal but from all over India for case study presentation and participating in other creative competitions. CCQC is a forum wherein our delegates get a chance of expressing their ideas, solutions and interaction for the growth and prosperity in the industries.
This website with the updated information about our Chapter presents a platform offering immense opportunity for continuous improvement in Quality in all spheres of life and, therefore, necessary and consequently aims at providing meaningful service to our nation. |

The SGA and other Quality initiatives will bring waste reduction, high production, cost consciousness and energy conservation, which will bring a continuous improvement in Quality of production and services at reduced costs.

- QCFI, Kolkata Chapter will organize and conduct a workshop on 5S & Kaizen on 22nd July 2011 at the New Kenilworth Hotel, 1& 2, Little Russel Street, Kolkata 700 071 (Ph: 2282-3939) from 9-00 hrs to 17-00 hrs. The workshop is organized with the objective of
- i) To understand 5S concept of House Keeping
- ii) Methodology of maintaining and improving level of House Keeping
- iii) 5S Audit
- iv) Creating Awareness on Kaizen concept
- v) Understanding the need from employee and organization point of view and indentify potential areas of Kaizen
- vi) understanding system steps to do Kaizen
- vii) Knowing sole clues for idea generation. For participation, mail to qcfikol@vsnl.net
- QCFI, Kolkata Chapter is going to conduct its 24th annual Chapter Convention on Quality Circles – CCQC 2011 on 20st September 2011 from 9-30 a.m. to 5-00 p.m. at Taj Bengal, Kolkata. Our Target: About 70 teams (QC / QIT / SGA / WCM / 5S etc) from different industries all over India with almost 400 participants to present their case studies.

- For the first time message of Quality Circle Objective and Philosophy were telecast on the National Channel of Door Darshan, Kolkata on Sunday, 20th March 2011. Activities generated by Kolkata Chapter were focused in the areas of Healthcare, Educare and Industry. Also highlighted was rural development through West Bengal State Electricity Board Network.
